National Founding Founders

NATIONAL HISTORY

Lambda Phi Epsilon was founded on February 25, 1981 at the University of California Los Angeles by a group of nineteen dedicated men led by principal founder Master Craig Ishigo. The goal of the founders was to transcend the limitations faced by traditional Asian American interest organizations on campus. Today, Lambda Phi Epsilon stands as the LARGEST and ONLY international Asian-interest but not Asian-exclusive fraternity in the world. Our colors are royal blue and white, our mascot is dragon, our philanthropy is the National Marrow Donor Program: Be the Match, and our motto is TO BE LEADERS AMONG MEN.

About: About Us

CHAPTER HISTORY

In 2018, a group of like-minded individuals from different backgrounds sought out to create a space for Asian American men to grow into the best version of themselves. The Leadership and Unity among Noble Asian Americans Redefining Standards, LUNARS, was thus formed as an Asian-American fraternity interest group. A year later, under the guidance of New Member Educators of the Alpha Tau Chapter from the University of Virginia, six dedicated men crossed the line and brought the 68th chapter of Lambda Phi Epsilon at George Mason University on December 1st, 2019.

PHILANTHROPY

In 1995, a former brother Evan Chen was diagnosed with leukemia. After the discovery of the incident, Lambda Phi Epsilon created a worldwide movement in hopes to find a compatible match with Evan. The search was a success, but unfortunately Evan passed away by the time they found a match. In honor of Evan Chen, our organization collaborates with the National Marrow Donor Program to help increase blood disorders awareness. Our goal is to increase donors for our registry through the #BeTheMatch campaign.
